Quickstart

Search US statutes and fetch a section in a few minutes.

1. Get an API key#

Create an account and generate a key in the dashboard. Keys start with a fixed prefix so they are easy to spot in logs.

2. Make your first search#

Results are ranked sections. Each carries an actId, a citation, a title and an excerpt.

3. Fetch the full text#

4. Discover coverage#

Call the coverage endpoint to see which corpora exist for which jurisdictions before treating an empty result as an absence of law.
